Vernon Leman started farming on the home farm in 1948. He raised pigs, cattle, chickens, and sheep. He also operated a small dairy.

Vernon's son, Keith, came back to the farm in 1973 after graduating from Illinois State University with an Ag Education degree. In addition to growing crops, his focus shifted more to hogs in 1978, when he built a farrowing nursery.

Keith's son, Chad, came back to the farm in 1992. Prior to coming back to the farm, Chad spent time working in the electrical and carpentry industries, gaining valuable skills to bring back to the farm.
